Wood.stock, NL/ USA

Wood.stock was created as a manufacturing methodology focused on extending the life span of in-stock wood reserves. Wood released from buildings, infrastructure, industry, and post-consumer goods is often downgraded to low-value applications as mulch, composite elements, or used products. A more considerable amount of wood waste is landfilled and incinerated. The market for wood products is increasing and promotes itself as a sustainable renewable resource. However, large wood consumption increases the demand for forest monoculture agriculture, decreasing biodiversity and conservation land.

Wood.stock is a methodology based on design and technological choices focused on environmental and economic gains to cascade wood products. The goal is to extend the life span of wood in stock to curb the demand for virgin resources.
